Diversified Operating Corporation operates roughly 80 wells primarily in Northeastern Colorado,Southwest Kansas, and recently Southwest Indiana. All North East Colorado production is from the Cretaceous "D" and "J" sands fields producing both high BTU gas and sweet 35-40 gravity oil.
The Sooner Unit was one of the first 3-D seismic projects in the D-J Basin. The DOE and DOC joined in attempting to produce additional secondary production from the Sooner Unit. The results were impressive. With primary production limited to 800,000 BO and 1.5 BCF, the 3-seismic and intense reservoir characterization work, with additional drilling, resulted in cumultative production exceeding 2.25 MMBO and 2.5 BCF. All the data and results are public and reside with the PTTC and the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.
Many of these wells had initial production greater than 500 BOPD from D Sandstone intervals ranging from 25 to 60 ft (7.6 to
18.3 m) thick. From the Sooner Unit, DOC discovered and developed two additional fields in Northeastern Colorado employing similar tools and technology.
Current drilling programs include Southwest Indiana, and Southwest Kansas. DOC is actively involved in an exciting "non-conventional" shale play in Southwestern Indiana. In eight months DOC successfully drilled seven horizontal New Albany Shale wells. Short term testing of the wells supports more drilling. DOC is installing gas gathering and supporting systems for production and gas sales and plans to be drilling several more wells in late spring/early summer 2007.
DOC continues to use technology, when applicable and hard work, in its continuing search for hydrocarbons.
